Vodafone Ghana Supports Kundum Festival

Vodafone Ghana has presented a cheque for GH¢20,000 and souvenirs to the chiefs, elders and people of Essikado Traditional Area in the Western Region in support of activities marking this year’s Kundum Festival.

The support package is part of a comprehensive plan by Vodafone Ghana to partner and support communities as they celebrate their annual festivals.

The telecommunications company has a strategic commitment to continue to serve as a platform for bringing communities and people together.

Earlier this year, the company played an integral part of the Homowo festival in Accra, where they supported activities including boxing, regatta and a musical concert.

Commenting on the support for Essikado, Nii Boye Adjei, Commercial Director at Vodafone Ghana, said Vodafone acknowledges the significance of the Kundum festival in Ghana’s calendar of traditional festivals and “we are excited to join the people of Essikado in celebrating this momentous occasion.

We remain convinced that the great partnership we have with the region will continue to flourish”.

Mr Adjei expressed Vodafone’s profound appreciation to the company’s loyal customers and workers in the Western Region for their support throughout the years.

Receiving the cash donation and souvenirs, Omanhene of Essikado Traditional Area Nana Kobina Nketsia V thanked the charitable arm of Vodafone, Vodafone Ghana Foundation, for championing socially relevant and economically impactful investment programmes in the region.

Ahead of the festival, Vodafone Ghana through the Vodafone Ghana Foundation, reached out to over 500 residents of Essikado with its free and quality healthcare programme, Healthfest.

The Healthfest medical team screened residents for various medical conditions including Diabetes, Hypertension, Hepatitis B and HIV.

#UpcomingEvent: GOSPEL STREET CYPHER - #GSC2015

For decades the Gospel music scenes in West Africa, specifically Ghana, has been defined to be substandard in terms of compositions and creativity.

The trend however has had a leap in recent times, and the catalyst here is the urban gospel wave fast catching up with the youth in Ghana, Nigeria and other West African countries.

And the Christian Contemporary  genre which is fast peaking in Africa is gradually gaining grounds as a new day never passes by without something astonishing coming out.

The newest of programmes to add up to the block is the "Gospel Street Cypher" designed to feature interesting, talented and spiritually filled gospel musicians, specifically rappers to share how deep they understand the things of God and can entertain with the Holy spirit.

Speaking to David Difie, an organising member of the "Gospel Street Cypher", he explained the event is designed mainly to spread the gospel of Christ in an urban way to the streets.

It is also aimed at giving an opportunity to the youth to showcase their talents.

David Difie also added the event will not have one stationed venue but will be hosted at various locations.

This is really for the streets and will not be limited to a particular location.

Most definitely, the likes of KingzKid, Preachers, Lil Zig,  Regardless, Chosen(YesuBa), Esaias, Edy C Radio, Nii Soul and many others may be rocking the "Gospel Street Cypher 2015" with Holy Spirit filled hip hop rap & poetry performances.

The maiden edition of the show is slated to come off at the John Bosco Technical Institute, Basketball Court inside Tema Community 22.

Currently in Abuja, multiple award winning singer, Davido has visited the presidential villa of his birth country, Nigeria.

The Aye hitmaker has a discussion with the vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo.

He revealed Professor Osinbajo told him he can’t wait for his second studio album as they discuss youth initiative programs.

“WITH THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA DISCUSSING YOUTH INITIATIVES…HE SAID HE CAN’T WAIT FOR THE ALBUM ANY LONGER,” he captioned on Instagram.
